Tim's Take As many of you know I believe nutrition is as important as it gets. There are supermarket isles full of every vitamin and miracle cure imaginable, but most of that junk is a waste of money. That goes double for all those multi-level marketing juice mixes with the acai, goji, mangosteen or other exotic berry. Save yourself a hundred dollars a month and buy a carton of locally grown blueberries or raspberries. Or better yet, redirect your money to a package of useful products and change your life! This article cuts through all the hype and explains the basic nutrients that your body requires to function properly. Without these critical nutrients you will develop a serious degenerative disease of some kind. To get back to optimal health you need to follow a simple plan: 1. Correct your critical deficiencies with therapeutic doses of specific nutrients.(See Tim's Essential Nutrients Routine and the Essential Nutrients Pak.) The Importance of Nutrition You are a walking bundle of nutrients. A car is made of a lot of parts, a body is made of a lot of nutrients. You need rubber for tires and steel for a frame, and you need different nutrients to build every part of your body. If you don’t have any rubber your car won’t work, and if you don’t have certain nutrients your body won’t work. Nutrition is the basis of our physical structure (bones, muscles, organs, etc.), personality (emotions, intelligence, etc.), immune system and everything else you could name. Your body makes obtaining nutrients a top priority. Your small intestine, which is responsible for absorbing nutrients, is over 20 feet long! That is a lot of space dedicated to one goal. You should be as serious about nutrients as your body is. Nutrition and Health Nutrients should be the first common sense remedy when someone develops an illness or disease, but most Western doctors don’t even consider it. It’s not their fault, in 6 years of medical school most doctors only get about 8 hours of nutritional education. Our medical system simply doesn’t acknowledge that proper nutrition is the foundation of our health. In fact, considering our body is nothing more than a sack of organized nutrients you could say nutrition IS our health! Nutrient deficiency or imbalance accounts for the overwhelming majority of diseases and illnesses known to man. The other main cause is the accumulation of toxins (discussed later in Phase One). It’s not germs, viruses, cancer, or genetics. While this may seem controversial, I assure you it is self-evident upon closer review. Few people know that every single person on Earth at every second in the history of time has viruses, bacteria, mold, yeast, and cancer cells in their body. Shouldn’t we all constantly be sick? Nope, because our bodies are martial arts grandmasters when it comes to self-defense. We’ve evolved for millions of years to perfect the art of protecting our health. Given the right weapons our immune system can fight off anything. How do we get those weapons? Nutrients of course!
